In a cold snowy winter of Newfoundland, when you set foot for the first time in Canada and practically don’t know anyone, Derek Payne became a face we looked for almost every day to share the excitement of buying our first house and the comfort and help of a true friend in the new country. Derek not only found us the house that we really wanted, he helped us to get to know St. John’s and its warm friendly people, and he even helped us generously with finding temporary accommodation upon arrival.
His contribution to the process of us buying the house in St. John’s was very impressive so when the time came 4 years later to move out of province he was the first and only realtor we wanted to have to sell our house.

Derek Payne was very helpful to me and my family on finding a House that suited my family needs. I arrived in Newfoundland – St. John’s with the need of a temporary residence fully furnished for 2 months while my furniture arrived from the Middle East. Then I needed a non-furniture house to rent for a few years for my stay in Canada.
I had very little to no time to find a place to rent. Derek was very diligent to find a house that meet my family’s expectations; he put a lot of effort to ensure that we were pleased with the options given and also was very diligent and flexible on time to get us to visit these houses. My family and I are happy with the service provided.

My wife and I landed in St. Johns (from Calgary) on September 13 for home hunting trip. We flue back on the 20th...after we signed for our home in Summit Dr., Paradise. This was quite remarkable for us as it took 3 days to find the house that we like, and three days to make the offer, negotiation, acceptance, and paper signing. On the 19th, we had a "fish and chips" lunch to celebrate a good house and a good deal.
Derek has become a family friend that we like to call every now and then and sometimes we do "Tim Horton's" coffee at Nova Scotia. It has been a pleasure to get to know such a smiley man.
